Lea Colombo / Colors of My Body
A collection of works by photographer/artist Lea Colombo from Cape Town, South Africa.
To this day, as an artist/photographer, as well as commissioned work and collaborations with many famous brands, Rea's works, and their relationship with colors, human bodies, and emotions, are instantly recognizable as her work. It's all about things. Lea Colombo, who continues to show an overwhelming presence, "Colours of My Body" presents works that pursue color, light, energy, and vibration through the body. This collection of works is the first art book for Rare, and the author considers his own body in this collection of works.
Its curves and muscles are rendered like a canvas in a constant dialogue with color and light, and the two energies, masculine and feminine, split with each turn of the page. I will repeat the fusion with. The concept of a woman's gaze, even that, has moved further and further away from the concrete form, and she has come to create in a purely abstract dimension. I create my work in a detached, purely abstract dimension. Bodies are layered with symbolic elements, chiaroscuro distorted, solarized, fragmented and redrawn with wax crayons. Created through the performative expression of “light painting,” darkroom prints interweave formality with auras pulsing around joints, and concentric circles and inverted pyramids that indicate chakras and energy centers dance, creating strength. It activates and at the same time makes us aware of our fragility.

Lea Colombo: A self-taught style artist from Cape Town, South Africa in 1993, she is a creative nomad. While doing commercial work as a photographer and director, and establishing himself with the world's most influential fashion brands, his reputation as an artist is growing rapidly. Known for her bold and vibrant style, Rea explores the value and connection of color, light and emotion. Her art reflects her own personality and she is not afraid to push the boundaries.
Rea's work is spontaneous and intuitive, unguarded and intimate. Her work reflects how she sees herself and the world. A multidisciplinary artist, Lea works in a variety of mediums including printmaking, photography, painting and sculpture.
In 2021, Rea independently produced and presented her first solo exhibition entitled "Colours of My Body". This introspective exploration re-centered the artist's body as the subject of his work. He has had exhibitions throughout North America and Europe, including Investec Cape Town International Art Fair, SMAC Gallery's Open City Johannesburg, and Southern Guild's Spring Awakening.
In October 2022, in her second solo exhibition entitled "A Downward Evolution" at 3537 in Paris, Rea presented a new body of work.
To coincide with the opening of A Downwards Evolution, she released her first limited edition artbook, Colors of My Body. The book is a radical self-exploration with her signature approach to light, color, form and energy.
