utz / addictive
A zine by Japanese photographer Utz. The landscapes of Tokyo that the author has photographed, and the tactile sensation of a lingering sensation that cannot be put into words by reversing the landscapes from negative to positive. The feeling you get through the visual experience is dull and ephemeral, along with the sequence of turning the pages. The unpredictable effects of materials that are no longer available and chemicals that the author has never used before. Notes on expressions using them experimentally. In addition, unbound bindings break up the pages, creating a more fragmented combination effect. The act of viewing a collection of works brings to mind the sad underside of everyday life.

At the age of 15, he started taking pictures with an underwater camera, which led him to take pictures on a daily basis, and his photographic expression began as a natural progression. As he travels, he collects intimate and personal photos as if writing in a diary, and the number of photos he has taken in this style has grown to be enormous, and he continues to update them daily. Expression of coloring directly with one's own hands. The colors and information he pays attention to through direct expression bring about direct contact with the viewer's sensibilities.
